Out-of-sorts Inter Milan forward and former captain Mauro Icardi is said to be inching closer to Nerazzurri departure.
His relationship with Inter hierarchy broke down during the past couple of weeks following a bump in contract negotiations and the player’s refusal to travel with the rest of the team to Austria. This resulted in Inter stripping Icardi of his captaincy.
The in-form forward is now facing the exit door of the Milan-based behemoths and is likely to leave at the end of the season. Despite the claims he might move to Spain or elsewhere in Europe.
The latest reports, however, claim Icardi will remain in Italy. Juventus and Napoli are said to be vying for his services at the moment as the player’s family ‘do not intend’ to leave Italy after having invested in northern Italian property.
Both Juventus and Napoli had been credited with an interest in Icardi in the past but it remains to be seen whether they will pursue the opportunity to sign his in the summer.
