Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi vowed to remain at Nerazzurri next season.
The Serie A fallen giants secured a Champions League slot in dramatic fashion after beating Lazio 3-2 on the final day of the season and Mauro Icardio moved on to clarify his future after month of speculation that he could leave Nerazzurri during the summer transfer window.
“My desire is to stay. I’m Inter’s No 1 fan,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
The 25-year-old attacker has widely been linked with a move away from Inter with Real Madrid reportedly keen on the Argentine star but with Nerazzurri now back in the Champions League, Icardi is all but certain to lead his team forward in Europe’s elite club competition.
Icardi is coming off from another prolific season during which he scored the total of 30 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions for Inter Milan.
