According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi is now desperate to stay at the club. He has supposedly sought out discussions with chairman Steven Zhang in order to clear the air, and however, Antonio Conte doesn’t share the same views. The former Chelsea boss wants to see him leave the club, and clearly already has an idea in his head of who he wants to replace him. Conte is believed to be interested in both Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko, who take on a similar ‘big man striker’ kind of role.
Icardi has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus over the course of the last few weeks, but in the last few days, the trail has gone a little bit cold. That may perhaps be because he’s in negotiations over an extended stay at the San Siro, but in reality, he’s probably just trying to play the field and figure out which deal is best for him.
