Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been tipped to replace Olafur Johannesson as Iceland boss, according to Daily Mail.
The Irish coach has been out of job since he was sacked by Ipswich in January, but now appears to be in the running for Iceland coaching job.
The Scandinavian country is looking for a new boss to replace Olafur Johannesson, whose contract is due to expire next month, and they have reportedly made Keane their number on target.
The Icelandic FA refused to comment on the speculations regarding Roy Keane.
“There are a number of managers linked the role. We have had several names linked including domestic managers, Roy Keane and former Sweden boss Lars Lagerback,” Icelandic FA representative told Ireland’s national television RTE.
“We can’t confirm or deny if Roy Keane is in contention for the job and there will be no further comment.”
