Ideye attracting BPL interest; Tottenham revive interest in Damiao

The agent of FC Dynamo Kiev striker Brown Ideye has revealed a number of English Premier League clubs are interested in the Nigeria international.

The agent of FC Dynamo Kiev striker Brown Ideye has revealed a number of English Premier League clubs are interested in the Nigeria international, Sky Sports understands.

Ideye, 24, joined Dynamo Kiev on a five-year deal from French Ligue 1 side FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in the summer of 2011.

The Nigeria international bagged a match-winning brace on his club debut against PFC Alexandria and has turned in countless impressive performances at the Olympic National Sports Complex since arriving in Kiev.

The 24-year-old talisman was linked with a sensational move to Chelsea, as a potential replacement for the Blues’ UEFA Champions League hero Didier Drogba, last summer.

Newcastle United and Swansea City have also been linked with the Nigerian, who scored the match-deciding goal against Mali in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals this past winter.

Nigeria went on to be crowned champions of African after defeating Burkina Faso in the final, with Warri Wolves F.C. midfielder Sunday Mba netting the only goal at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on 10 February.

“I am aware of interest from several Premier League clubs in Brown,” Ideye’s agent Hootan Ahmadi told Sky Sports.

“Brown is keen to move to England and to play in the Premier League.

“We will assess all offers this summer before considering our options for Brown.”

Tottenham revive interest in Damiao

Sport Club Internacional striker Leandro Damiao has been tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur in the near future by the Brazilian club’s president Giovanni Luigi, according to ESPN FC.

Damiao, 23, has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane on several different occasions over the past two seasons.

The Brazil international has also reportedly attracted interest from Serie A side Napoli, but Luigi has ruled out a move to Italy.

“If a club want a player, they must talk to the president of the club at which that particular player plays, and not just deal with the agent – that is not correct behaviour,” Luigi told Tutto Mercato.

“Recently we talked with Tottenham, Leandro is very likely to play games in England in the coming year. On the other hand we can exclude Napoli.”

Emmanuel Adebayor, who tallied 17 goals and 11 assists in 33 Premier League appearances while on loan at White Hart Lane last term, has failed to produce the sort of purple patch form he enjoyed for much of last season in 2012-13, fueling speculation that Andre Villas-Boas, a massive admirer of Damiao, will sign a new striker in the summer.
