Achraf Hakimi has revealed he would be ready to return to Real Madrid from his loan at Borussia Dortmund if the Spanish giants call him back.
The 21-year-old right-back was sent to the Bundesliga outfit to gain some top-level experience and use it for further development, with head coach Zinedine Zidane preferring the seasoned Dani Carvajal on his defensive flank. Meanwhile, Hakimi has broken onto the scene in a big way in Germany, and at Dortmund they’ve made no secret of their wish to keep him at the Signal Iduna Park permanently. He has so far played a total of 37 games in all competitions, scoring seven and assisting 10 goals – an impressive output for such a young player who is first and foremost a defender.
In an interview with French television Telefoot (via AS), he said that moving to Dortmund was the best one he could possibly have made at the time, but he also revealed that it’s still Real Madrid he calls ‘home’, and if they want him, he’ll go back. If not, he’ll consider other options.
