Watford manager Walter Mazzarri has assured Odion Ighalo that he remains in his plans despite his slow start to the season, according to the Express.
The Nigeria international was linked with a big money move to China in the summer after bagging thirteen goals in the first half of last season – his first in England’s top flight.
However, he has netted just three league goals in 2016, with his only strike this season so far coming in a 4-2 win at West Ham United back in September.
Despite his lack of current form, Hornets boss Mazzarri is willing to stand by the twenty-seven year old former Udinese and Granada man.
Watford’s surprise top scorer this season is Eitenne Capoue who has four more league strikers than Ighalo and three more than captain Troy Deeney.
Their next game is at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon, and Ighalo is priced at 13/2 to open the scoring.
