AC Milan full-back is set to become the latest high-profile European football player to move across the pond and join an MLS side.
The experienced defender is nearing the end of his contract with Rossoneri and instead of walking away on a free deal when his deal expires next summer, he is expected to change clubs at the end of the season.
The Italian media report that Los Angeles Galaxy are already eyeing a possibility to bring him over to the United States where Abate would be reunited with former teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Los Angeles Galaxy are currently on the lookout for a right back with Rolf Feltscher expected to be sidelined for a while and Ignazio Abate would be a perfect solution for the star-studded MLS side.
The 31-year-old Abate would not be arriving to MLS as a designated player as all three slots are currently occupied by Romain Alessandrini, Giovani dos Santos and Jonathan dos Santos which means a potential move would require TAM funding.
