Former Croatian national team player Igor Tudor has ended his career as result of an ongoing ankle injury.
Tudor announced this to media on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old injured his ankle three months ago in a match with Hajduk Split, and hasn’t been able to recover as fast as hoped for.
The defender began his career with the same club as where he would retire, Hajduk Split in 1995. After three seasons he tried his luck at Juventus in Italy, and this is where he would spend the coming nine years.
In 2005, Tudor spent some time on loan at Siena before eventually returning to his home country.
The player formed part of the successful Croatian team that made it to the third place at the 1998 World Cup.
