ESPN is reporting that FC Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas could move to Major League Soccer next summer.
The veteran goalkeeper finally decided to leave Real Madrid last summer as he joined the Dragons, signing a two-year deal with the Primeira Liga side.
However, it looks as though he will be given an opportunity to move to the United States at the end of the current campaign.
Namely, New York City FC hopes to bring Casillas to the MLS and add him to their ranks, where Andrea Pirlo, Frank Lampard and David Villa are the three star names.
It remains to be seen whether the highly rated shot-stopper would be prepared to consider a move to Major League Soccer, and much could depend on whether FC Porto secure Champions League qualification.
The Dragons are involved in a three-horse title chase with Sporting CP and Benfica, and it is important to note that only first two positions in the standings secure progress to the Champions League group stages.
