Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is nearing closer to joining Manchester City, according to Bild.
New Man City manager Pep Guardiola is eager to bring the Germany hotshot to Etihad Stadium and the Citizens officials are currently working on making that happen.
Man City sporting director Txiki Begiristain recently met with Gundogan’s representatives in Amsterdam, with Guardiola also present.
And with Borussia Dortmund quite happy with the reported €30 million fee, a summer move to Etihad is a realistic possibility for the highly rated midfielder.
Gundogan is reportedly ready to look for a new challenge and he believes the work with Pep Guardiola will improve his chances of nailing down a regular starting berth in the Germany national team.
The Spanish coach had another opportunity to witness the player’s potential as the 25-year-old produced a very good performance in weekend’s goalless draw between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
