(GSM) – Independiente went five points clear atop the Clausura in Argentina on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal de Sarandí.

Independiente came in with a three-point lead over second-placed Godoy Cruz, and they kept their foot on the gas from the outset.

The pressure paid off in the 30th minute when Leonel Núñez scored past Cristián Campestrini to put the hosts in front.

Despite all Arsenal could give them, the 1-0 scoreline never changed.

There was a new second-placed team as Argentinos Juniors moved into that spot with a 2-1 win over Chacarita Juniors.
