Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League Group H encounter against AC Milan.
The midfielder picked up a thigh injury in Saturday’s 4-0 La Liga win over Zaragoza and Barca’s website confirmed that Iniesta has not been included in the match squad for the crunch clash at San Siro.
The 27-year-old came off the bench after 56 minutes and lasted until the final whistle, but complained about pain in his left thigh afterwards.
Barca are also without Adriano Correia, Ibrahim Afellay and Daniel Alves while Iniesta’s absence is a further blow for coach Pep Guardiola.
Both clubs have already qualified for the last 16 stage of the competition.
They are now just fighting for first place in the group, a position Barca currently hold by two points over the San Siro giants.
