Andres Iniesta has signed a new contract with Barcelona that could see him remain with the Catalan club for the rest of his playing career, Sky Sports understands.

The Spain international signed the new deal that will run until 2018, on Monday while it will automatically renew if he plays in a certain amount of matches during the 2017/18 campaign.

The 29 year old has won six La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey’s and three Champions’ Leagues amongst a host of other club, international and individual honours during his time at the Nou Camp, and, should he see out his contract, will have been with Barca for twenty-two years.

Barcelona are currently top of the table, joint with Atletico Madrid on forty-six points but ahead on goal difference, and can be backed at a price of 4/7 to win what would be their seventh league championship in ten seasons.
