Real Madrid manager Bernd Schuster will have to do without Argentinian Fernando Gago for at least four weeks.
Gago tore a muscle in his left knee tendon during the Champions League game with BATE Borisov on Wednesday, and needed replacement after only half an hour.
Schuster had already warned for a serious injury looking at the symptoms, and doctors today confirmed that the midfielder shouldn’t be expected to make a return within a month.
Gago has formed part of Real Madrid’s squad since 2006. Last season, he made a total of 42 appearances for the Spanish champions.
If the prognosis of four weeks is correct, Gago should be back in time for Real Madrid’s Champions League game with Juventus on October 21st.
