Bad news for Spain coach Vicente del Bosque, who already had to do without the injured Fernando Torres for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Valencia player David Silva is added to the list of absences as result of an ankle injury suffered this week.

Silva was one of Spain’s most influential players during their successful Euro 2008 campaign, often serving the strikers from the wing or finding his way into the penalty area himself.

Spain begin their qualifying campaign versus Bosnia-Herzegovina and Armenia on Saturday and Wednesday respectively.
