Russian daily Izvestia has learned that Spartak Moscow plan to cash in on Argentine defender Juan Insaurralde in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old joined the club from Boca Juniors in the summer of 2012, but failed to prove his worth in Russia.
While showing glimpses of quality in some games, Insaurralde never managed to find enough consistency and club chiefs have now decided to sell him at the earliest opportunity.
A return to Argentine appears on the cards given that his former club Boca Juniors and few other clubs from the elite division are showing interest in the experienced defender.
Juan Insaurralde had established quite a reputation in Argentine top flight prior to joining Spartak, having made 201 league appearances for Chacarita, Newell’s and Boca Juniors.
He has, however, failed to impress in his first European adventure, making just 15 league appearances for Spartak Moscow and scoring one goal.
