Rebel Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli will meet with club officials after next week’s Champions League semi-final, second leg away to Barcelona to discuss his future, his agent said.
Balotelli angered fans, team-mates and officials following Tuesday’s 3-1 home success against the European champions by flinging his shirt to the ground after the final whistle.
Despite issuing an apology on Friday, the teenager has been barred from the team for Saturday evening’s clash against Atalanta. Instead, Balotelli went to Brescia to watch their game against Reggina as a friend of his was involved.
However his agent, Mino Raiola, insists Balotelli’s career with the four-in-a-row Serie A champions is not over, although there will be a meeting next week.
“Out of respect for the club and to not disturb the team’s concentration ahead of their forthcoming commitments, the meeting with Inter will take place next week after the game against Barcelona,” said Raiola.
“I don’t want to create a media circus and neither does Mario. He wants the team to concentrate in peace on their important objectives.
“So we won’t be saying any more to the press until at least Thursday.”
Raiola also denied that Balotelli had been sent away from training on Friday or that the relationship between club and player is over.
Italian press rumours claim that even Inter’s players and coach Jose Mourinho can’t stand Balotelli’s presence around the club any more.
