”A stadium is a very important asset in modern football.”
“We are working together at San Siro stadium and shortly we will tell Milan’s mayor about our decision.”
Those are the words of Inter Milan CEO Alessandro Antonello, who informed Sky Italia of both club’s plans to build a brand new stadium – before tearing the San Siro down. Inter and AC have been ground sharing since way back in 1947 when Inter came to town, with AC calling the San Siro home since 1926. Despite being bitter rivals the two clubs have been able to cordially share the rights to the ground for all these years, and it seems like they’re going to continue to do so once the new stadium comes into existence.
Once the new stadium is built, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not either club is able to attract players of an even higher quality – dependant on the size of the stadium, of course.
