Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini aims to try and sign Italian forward Alessio Cerci from Atletico Madrid, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The former Manchester City manager has just taken over from Walter Mazzarri and he is expected to receive a strong backing from club owner Erick Thohir in the January transfer window.
And Il Corriere dello Sport has now suggested that Mancini has made Atletico’s Alessio Cerci his number one target.
The manager knows the player well and with Inter having earlier tried to lure the player to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, he believes Cerci is interested in joining.
The 27-year-old only joined Atletico from Torino in the summer, but having made just four substitute appearances in the league since, the forward could be interested in a return to Serie A.
It remains to be seen whether los Colchoneros will be interested in selling, but a loan until the end of the season is a realistic possibility.
