Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport understands that Inter Milan are seriously thinking about recruiting Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic this summer.
Having been given the vote of confidence by new owner Erick Thohir, boss Walter Mazzarri has started planning for the new season and he has made the Montenegro star his number one priority.
The experienced coach plans to build his attack around Jovetic and he sees the Montenegrin as a perfect long-term replacement for Diego Milito.
Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has used the negotiations for Napoli midfielder Valon Behrami to speak to Jovetic’s agent Fali Ramadani and informed him of Mazzarri’s plans for his client.
And even if Manchester City do not seem prepared to sell, the Nerazzurri hope the promise of first team football will prove sufficient for the forward to leave the Citizens this summer.
Stevan Jovetic, 24, has made a total of 18 competitive appearances for the Premier League champions and scored 6 goals in the process.
