Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are locked in the fight for Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho.
The Nerazzurri are in the market for midfield reinforcements and while Lucas Leiva and Geoffrey Kondogbia are also on their radar, the Giuseppe Meazza outfit are stepping up their efforts to sign the Spanish footballer.
Inter hope to recruit the 24-year-old on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy, although they could face stiff competition from La Liga holders Atletico Madrid.
The interesting thing is that Ignacio Camacho came through the youth ranks at Vicente Calderon, but left los Colchoneros for Malaga after making just 30 La Liga appearances.
The talented footballer has since developed into a key player at La Rosaleda, scoring 9 goals in 108 league outings. Camacho has been almost ever present for Malaga this season, starting 14 La Liga matches and scoring 1 goal.
