Italian TV station Sky Sport 24 is reporting that Inter Milan and Napoli are locked in the battle for Porto defender Rolando.
Both clubs are looking for defensive reinforcements and have singled out the Portuguese defender as one of their top targets in the January transfer window.
Porto officials are prepared to sell the centre-back to the highest bidder and they have flown to Italy in order to open talks with the two clubs.
Sky Sport 24 understands that Inter are leading the race at the moment, mainly because they are willing to include midfielder Ricky Alvarez into the deal.
Porto have been keen on the Argentine for a while now and this could be a perfect opportunity to lure him to Stadio do Dragao.
Even though he was once considered an important player for both club and country, Rolando has lost his place in the starting line-up at Porto and only made one league appearance this season.
