Inter challenge Liverpool for Konoplyanka

Daily Mirror is reporting that Inter Milan have emerged as favourites to sign midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka from Dnipro.

It was Liverpool who almost signed the highly rated footballer in January, but the transfer ultimately failed to materialize.

And the Reds could now miss out on the Ukraine star as Inter reportedly plan to lure him to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the winter transfer window.

Even if the player was valued at £18 million not so long ago, chances are he will be available for much less considering that his contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs for several years now and he is almost certain to quit Dnipro for greener pastures in the near future.

Konoplyanka has long ago become a key player for club and country and has so far scored 8 goals in 37 appearances for the national team.
