La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Inter Milan have won the race to sign Danubio full-back Marcelo Saracchi.
Former Nerazzurri star Alvaro Recoba offered his former club as well as Juventus the opportunity to sign the talented footballer and it appears that the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit have emerged victorious.
Inter Milan have reportedly agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old in the January window, provided the player can obtain a EU passport.
Marcelo Saracchi is one of the hottest prospects to have come out of Danubio’s youth academy in recent years, and he has already proved his worth at senior level.
Capable of operating anywhere on the left hand side, the youngster has so far made 32 league appearances for the Uruguayan giants, and he clearly did enough to secure a winter move to Europe.
Inter Milan are short of options in full-back positions, although Saracchi cannot be expected to immediately challenge for starting places.
