Reports from Italy suggest Inter are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Antonio Cassano as Sampdoria try their best to cancel his contract.
The Italy international has been dropped from the first team after the clash with club president Riccardo Garrone and he is likely to leave Sampdoria in January.
Should that happen, Inter are ready to act with the Neroazzurri reportedly already agreeing personal terms with the 28-year-old forward.
Inter president Massimo Moratti attempted to sign Cassano on several occasions but this looks like the perfect timing to sign the Italy international as he should be available for free.
As Sampdoria prepare to rescind the player’s contract, Inter will jump at the opportunity to sign such a good player on a free transfer, while the prospect of getting a hefty deal and becoming a key player at Giuseppe Meazza should be appealing enough to the player as well.
