Serie A giants Inter have moved to confirm reports suggesting they are pondering a bid for Corinthians hotshot Paulinho.
The Neroazzurri have started the process of squad rejuvenation and they are looking at a number of talented youngsters at the moment.
They have been heavily linked with a move for Corinthians midfielder Paulinho, and this is the first time someone from the club have confirmed the speculation.
“He does represent one of the most interesting Brazilian midfielders,” Inter boss Andrea Stramaccioni told Tuttosport.
“He is a central midfielder who can play in a two or three-man line. He is capable of scoring goals, is particularly dangerous with runs forward and combines quality with ball-winning skills.
“Both Inter and other sides have followed Paulinho, but he plays for Corinthians now and it is only right that he concentrate on the Club World Cup in December.”
Inter are expected to make an official bid for the player’s services after the Club World Cup, but they will have to beat competition from other interested clubs.
The good news is Paulinho has welcomed the Neroazzurri interest, revealing they were the only club to present him with a concrete offer.
The 24-year-old has been in fine form since joining Corinthians from Bragantino, scoring 23 goals in 115 league games for the club.
