Inter Milan have contacted Hertha Berlin over the possibility of signing Matheus Cunha, according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The 21-year-old Brazilian forward arrived to Hertha from RB Leipzig this January for a reported fee of €18 million. He has so far netted four goals and assisted further two from a total of 20 appearances, of which more than half were cameos off the bench. His performances have overall been of high quality have apparently made Inter, who have been following his progress for a long time, express their interest in his services directly to the Bundesliga side.
Inter are currently locked in a battle against Barcelona as they attempt to keep hold of Lautaro Martinez, and should they eventually lose the Argentinian, acquiring a younger forward beside Romelu Lukaku would seem a sensible move.
Cunha is first and foremost a striker, but his attacking versatility makes him capable of playing well on the right wing, as well as a number 10.
