Inter Milan are ready to improve their squad in the upcoming Janury transfer window, as they want to continue their push for the Serie A title. Competing against Juventus is not easy and Antonio Conte knows that very well.
Nerazzuri want to make reinforcements but they might need to make some changes in their plans, because Chelsea are asking for up to 35 million euros for Marcos Alonso, one of Conte’s preferred targets. Conte wants to reunite with the Spanish left-back, but the huge fee is not something Inter can pay for him.
According to Corriere dello Sport, that fee is a serious stumbling black in Inter’s plans to bring Alonso to San Siro. They could instead find some other options in order to improve full-back positions. The same report suggests they might go for Matteo Darmian who is very close to leaving Manchester United. Whatever might be the case, it will be hard for Chelsea to lose Alonso as long as that asking price remains so high.
