ESPN understands that Inter Milan have registered their interest in signing Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil.
However, the Serie A side have said that they will struggle to secure the Germany international’s services when the transfer window reopens in January with a summer deal preferable.
Ozil’s contract with the North London side expires at the end of this campaign, and will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January 1st.
Inter are set to focus on improving their defence as a priority but will then look to add strength to their attack with World Cup winner Ozil one of their top targets.
Ozil has been with Arsenal for the past four years and in that time has racked up one hundred and sixty-six appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring thirty-two goals.
He has won the FA Cup in three of his four full seasons with the club and was named their Player of the Year in 2016.
