The Metro understands that Inter Milan are preparing a summer move for Manchester United striker Robin van Persie.
The Dutch international moved to Old Trafford in the summer of 2012, and has gone on to score fifty-one goals in eighty-four appearances in all competitions for the club.
He was the Premier League top scorer in 2012/13 on route to United winning the title under Sir Alex Ferguson in his last season in charge, though he has managed just three goals since Louis van Gaal took charge in the summer.
Wayne Rooney was handed the captain’s armband over Van Persie at the start of the season, and the former Arsenal man is set to be the subject of much transfer speculation with the transfer window set to reopen in five weeks’ time.
Van Persie is priced at 7/2 to get the first goal when United host Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
