Sao Paulo have rejected an official bid from Inter for star midfielder Lucas Moura, according to the player’s representative.
The 19-year-old midfielder is one of the hottest commodities in world football and is followed by a host of Europe’s top clubs.
Real Madrid are thought to be leading the race for the player’s signature, but it appears Inter have tried to steal the player in front of their noses.
The player’s agent reveals the Neroazzurri have had an €18 million bid rejected for the highly rated winger.
“An offer from Inter has arrived worth €18m, but I spoke to the Sao Paulo directors and they immediately rejected the proposal,” agent Wagner Ribeiro told Brazilian newspaper Estadao.
“I contacted Inter to tell them the offer was rejected because it does not satisfy the club’s requests.”
The Brazilian club are not interested in selling their most prized asset, but it is believed they would not be able to resist a big money offer.
Lucas Moura, who has already earned a starting berth in the senior national team, has scored 6 goals in 22 league games this season, while scoring for Brazil in a friendly against arch rivals Argentina.
