Inter Milan have made progress in Serie A this season under Antonio Conte’s guidance, but they are far from winning the title they want so much. For that to do in the next year or two, they will have to flex themselves as much as possible and add new important signings to their core of the squad. But for that to happen, they will probably have to keep Lautaro Martinez at the club, since the Argentine is an improtant piece of the puzzle.
Barcelona are the club mostly mentioned in the conversation of signing Martinez this summer, but Inter are hoping to not only keep Lautaro for another year but also for him to sign a new long-term deal. It was previously reported that Inter have put a release clause of 111 million euros in his contract, but that ends in early July.
Tuttosport are now reporting that such clause must be triggered this Monday (today) and that seems highly unlikely, so it could be expected for Inter to give Martinez a new, improved deal very soon.
