Inter youngster Samuele Longo has announced that he is set to join Espanyol on a season-long loan.
The highly rated youngster was recently linked with Spanish La Liga side Espanyol and he has now confirmed reports that he will be spending next season on loan with los Periquitos.
“Finally today I depart!” Longo wrote in his Twitter account. “I can’t wait to start this new adventure. Vamos periquitos!”
The 20-year-old forward is regarded as one of the hottest prospects at Giuseppe Meazza and he is currently an important member of the Italy Under-21 side.
Longo was handed a first team debut for Inter in the 3-1 defeat to Lazio in May 2012, while he scored 5 goals in 7 games for the Neroazzurri’s youth squad on the road to NextGen Series title.
The forward made a substitute appearance in the Europa League clash with Hajduk Split earlier this month, but the club chiefs, nonetheless, decided that he would be better off spending the next season on loan than waiting for his chance at Giuseppe Meazza.
