Inter in ambitious bid for Hernanes
Turin based Tuttosport understands that Inter Milan are planning an ambitious swoop for Lazio star Hernanes.
The same source has learned that Walter Mazzarri is a big fan of the midfielder and he dreams about luring him to Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter officials have other things on their minds as signing a new right-sided defender remains a priority, but the Nerazzurri might make a move on Hernanes in the next couple of weeks.
With the Brazilian valued at €25 million, they first need to sell, and it is Andrea Ranocchia and Fredy Guarin who are being linked with summer exits.
Milan and Napoli are reportedly locked in the battle for the Italy international, while Zenit, Manchester United and Arsenal are also keeping close tabs on the player.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain have also been showing interest in Hernanes, but Lazio president Claudio Lotito has rubbished claims that his star player will be joining the Saints.
Hernanes, 28, has been in scintillating form last season, scoring no less than 11 goals in 34 Serie A appearances.
Everton join chase for Alderweireld
Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws is reporting that Everton are considering a move for Ajax stopper Toby Alderweireld.
The Belgium international was given permission to talk to Norwich after the Canaries agreed an €8 million fee with the player’s employers, but he has failed to reach an agreement with the Carrow Road outfit.
Ajax chiefs are determined to cash in on their star player this summer as he only has one year left on his current deal, and he may be moving to English Premier League after all.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Everton look ready to join the race for the highly rated defender.
Despite signing Antolin Alcaraz from Wigan, Roberto Martinez is looking to add another centre-back to the squad and he is reportedly pondering a move for Alderweireld.
The 24-year-old has spent his entire professional career at Ajax, making 124 Eredivisie appearances for the Amsterdammers.
Marseille keen on Imbula Wanga
French giants Marseille are stepping up their interest in Guingamp starlet Gianelli Imbula Wanga, according to L’Equipe.
OM have already recruited Dimitry Payet and Benjamin Mendy, but they now aim to further reinforce their squad.
According to L’Equipe, Marseille president Vicente Labrune has contacted his Guingamp counterpart Bertrand Desplat to submit an official offer for midfielder Gianelli Imbula Wanga.
The proposal is believed to be in the region of €6 million, but the Ligue 2 side have rejected the offer as insufficient.
Guingamp are aware this is a perfect opportunity to cash in on their star player, but they are not prepared to sell him on the cheap.
Imbula Wanga, 20, has a contract until June 2015 at the club and he was voted Player of the Year in France’s second division last term.
