Inter Milan are planning a shock move for Juventus star Andrea Pirlo, Il Corriere dello Sport has learned.
Erick Thohir, who is set to replace Massimo Moratti as Inter owner, revealed during the 2013 Confederations Cup his admiration for Andrea Pirlo, and he remains keen on the veteran midfielder.
The wealthy businessman is determined to mark his arrival at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza with a big name signing and everything suggests he will attempt to snatch the Italy international from under Juventus’ noses.
With Pirlo’s current deal in Turin due to expire at the end of the season and the Bianconeri yet to offer him a contract extension, chances are the 34-year-old will be available on a cut-price deal in January.
The player himself is reportedly unhappy by the treatment at Juventus Arena and he could be interested to hear what the Nerazzurri have to offer.
The interesting thing is that Pirlo has already spent four years at Inter between 1998 and 2001, although he only managed to make 22 league appearances.
