Inter in fresh assault on Lavezzi
Daily Express is reporting that Inter Milan are readying a January bid for long-term target Ezequiel Lavezzi.
The Nerazzurri are expected to spend heavily in January having recently appointed Roberto Mancini as their head coach, and the Argentine is one of the players they are looking at.
With Rodrigo Palacio misfiring at the moment, Mancini believes Ezequiel Lavezzi would be a perfect attacking partner for hotshot Mauro Icardi.
And with the forward’s deal at Parc des Princes due to expire in just over a year and a half, Inter are confident they can get their man at a reasonable price in the winter.
According to the latest reports, both Liverpool and Tottenham are keen on Lavezzi as well, and they might decide to act in the upcoming transfer window.
Paris Saint-Germain extended the winning run in French Ligue 1 to five matches as they defeated Metz on the road, with the Saints priced at 1/7 to win the league trophy.
Sevilla insist Krychowiak not for sale
Europa League holders Sevilla have poured cold water on speculation linking star midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak with a January exit.
The Polish footballer has taken to his new club like a fish to water, having largely impressed on both domestic and European stage.
As a result, the 24-year-old has seen his name linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, but he recently suggested he was happy to remain at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Sevilla chairman Jose Castro has now also moved to deny that Krychowiak will be leaving los Rojiblancos any time soon.
“One thing is clear, we will not negotiate for Krychowiak,” Castro told reporters ahead of the trip to Netherlands, where Sevilla are set to face Feyenoord in a Europa League clash.
Gregorz Krychowiak joined los Rojiblancos in the summer from Reims and he developed into a key player at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan almost instantly.
Benfica lead chase for Dybala
Primeira Liga leaders Benfica have emerged as the favourites to sign Argentine striker Paulo Dybala from Palermo, Sky Sport Italia has suggested.
The 21-year-old has caught the eye of Europe’s top sides with his performances this season, but it would appear as though the Eagles are in pole position at the moment.
High asking price could prove an obstacle to any deal given that Palermo chairman recently slapped a €40 million price tag on the youngster’s services.
In all fairness, Dybala would probably be available for lot less, but it remains to be seen whether Benfica will be able to reach an agreement with the forward’s employers.
The Argentine footballer had a difficult start to his career in Italy, scoring mere 8 league goals during his first two seasons with the Rosanero.
However, he has shown a great deal of improvement this term, netting five times in twelve Serie A outings and getting on the scoresheet in each of the last three games.
