Inter keeping tabs on Drenthe

Talk Sport are today reporting that Inter Milan are interested in signing Royston Drenthe, who is now a free agent after his contract at Real Madrid expired last month.

Andrea Stramaccioni is looking to build a side with plenty of young talent that can compete for the the Serie A title. Inter only managed a sixth place finish in the Italian top flight last season.

The 25-year-old spent a period on loan at English Premier League side Everton last year and impressed in stages on the pitch.

However, he was accused of breaking a number of rules at Goodison Park which ended his chances of a move to Merseyside.

Now it seems as though Stramaccioni is prepared to take a risk on the Dutchman who clearly has bag of talent and if he can manage him well, he could be one of the best deals in this summer’s transfer window.

Drenthe scored three goals in 21 appearances for the Toffee’s last campaign and when he was on form was unplayable at times.

This is certainly a story to keep an eye on and with the winger being a free agent a few more clubs could come in for him.

We shall see.
