Inter Milan have emerged as favourites to sign forward Alessio Cerci from Torino, Tuttosport has learned.
The Nerazzurri are set to make a new assault on the Italy international after boss Walter Mazzarri gave the green light and they appear to be in the pole position at the moment.
While Roma and Juventus have cooled their interest in the player, AC Milan remain keen, but Cerci is unlikely to be joining the Rossoneri as he wants to play European football next term.
However, reaching an agreement with Torino will not be an easy task, which is why the Nerazzurri hope to cash in on Fredy Guarin as soon as possible and use the money from the sale for an assault on Cerci.
Alessio Cerci was in stunning form last season as Granata secured Europa League qualification, having managed 13 goals and 10 assists in 37 Serie A fixtures, before making two substitute appearances for Italy at the 2014 World Cup.
