As Inter head into a new era with Frank de Boer already there to replace Roberto Mancini at the helm, the club now turns towards the transfer dealings as the beginning of the new season is just weeks away.
First on De Boer’s wish list appears to be the 19-year-old Santos forward Gabriel Barbosa, nicknamed Gabigol.
The exciting Brazilian prospect is expect to change club after the Rio Olympics and he has already been linked with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs including Barcelona, Juventus, Chelsea and Premier League champions Leicester City.
However, according to the Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport Inter have emerged as favourites to land the highly rated striker.
Gabigol has an €18 million release clause in his contract with Santos, but the club are holding out to get around €25 for their prized asset and it is believed that Inter’s new owners will not back down from the race as they want to reward their new manager Frank de Boer with an exciting signing.
Brazilian forward has already netted five goals in 10 appearances in the Campeonato Brasileiro this season.
