Italian newspaper Tuttosport suggests that Inter are ready to launch an assault on Shakhtar Donetsk star Willian Borges da Silva.
The same source claims that the first contact has already been made as Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio met with the player’s representative Alexandre Saores in London.
Willian currently has a €35 million release clause inserted in his deal, but the Neroazzurri have not been put off by the high asking price.
It appears that club owner Massimo Moratti has finally decided to cash in on Wesley Sneijder, who is likely to be sold to the highest bidder.
The mere fact that Inter decided to enter the race with clubs like Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham for the highly rated midfielder adds fuel to speculations suggesting that Moratti plans to sell 15% of the club’s shares to a Chinese consortium and thus earn around €55 million.
Even so, the Neroazzurri will have to act fast if they are to beat other interested clubs to the Brazilian’s signature.
