Italian daily Tuttosport has learned that Inter Milan are looking to sign AC Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini.
New Inter boss Walter Mazzarri is keen to sign midfield reinforcements, with the French footballer reportedly on his hit-list.
Flamini’s contract at San Siro is due to expire at the end of the current campaign and he has yet to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri.
Inter are hoping to take advantage of the situation and they are preparing a lucrative contract offer for the Frenchman.
Flamini arrived at San Siro on a free transfer from Arsenal in the summer of 2008, but his career at Milan has been plagued by numerous injuries.
He has, nevertheless, made a total of 96 Serie A appearances for the club, scoring 7 goals in the process.
The 29-year-old again struggled through injury at the start of the current campaign, but has made 14 Serie A starts since the turn of the year, scoring no less than 4 goals.
