La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Inter Milan have all but agreed a deal to sign Portuguese defender Pepe from Real Madrid.
The 34-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and having fallen behind Raphael Varane in the pecking order, the centre-back has decided to quit Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, his agent Jorge Mendes has reached an agreement with Inter Milan over a two-year deal for his client worth €4 million per campaign.
All that’s left is for the Nerazzurri owner Zhang Jindong to give the green light and the contract will be signed.
Pepe spent last 10 years with Real Madrid, winning two La Liga titles and as many Champions League trophies, and he could win another two of those before he leaves the club.
Los Blancos have been made 5/6 favourites to lift the UCL title as they are set to face Italian champions Juventus in the final in Cardiff.
