According to a recent report from Calciomercato, Inter Milan tried to put a swap deal together involving Christian Eriksen and N’Golo Kante.
Although Eriksen hasn’t been a member of Inter’s squad for particularly long, the club have so often been ruthless in their negotiations – and if this story is to be believed, then that was their aim earlier this summer.
The proposal would’ve been for Eriksen to jump ship to Chelsea and in return, N’Golo Kante would make his way over to the San Siro. Chelsea had entertained the idea of letting Kante go whereas in return, Eriksen wasn’t – and still isn’t – interested in leaving Inter so soon after he joined.
If they’d put forward such an idea earlier on in the transfer window then they may have been able to get somewhere, but there almost certainly wasn’t enough time for them to put the right pieces in place to make it happen.
