According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Inter Milan want to offer Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku £41 million spread over five years, which includes bonus figures, as long as they are able to convince the Red Devils to sell him. Their latest proposal would ensure that United receive £63 million including add-ons, but it would be structured over a series of different years and payment plans. That’s still short of the expectations that United set out for Inter at the start of negotiations, as they want more than the £79 million that they paid Everton for the striker.
Inter do not want to match that asking price, and would much prefer to find some kind of middle ground, if possible, with the club.
One way or another, though, it feels like the Belgian is edging closer and closer towards a big move with each and every passing day – which is an exciting prospect.
