When you decide a Copa Libertadores final with two goals scored in the dying minutes of the match and bring the trophy to your club after a 38-year long wait, you are going to be a wanted man. That is what Gabriel Barbosa did on Saturday night and already by Sunday, the transfer rumours are already swirling around.
A few months ago there was talk about Flamengo wanting to keep the striker they loaned from Inter Milan and somehow pay the transfer fee necessary to sign him, but since then Gabigol’s scoring did not stop and therefore the asking price for him did not stop increasing, either.
That is why the day after the final Gazzetta dello Sport are claiming that Inter are expected to raise the asking price for the Brazilian striker, as it was previously reported to be somewhere around 22 million euros. Now that number is expected to between 35 and 40 million euros, as many more clubs will be eager to sign Gabigol despite his poor spell in Europe.
