Inter Milan are interested in signing Olivier Giroud from Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to Calcio Mercato. It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that Inter have been chasing the former Arsenal striker for the past two seasons and will make an attempt again when the transfer window opens in January.
Giroud is out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, and Italian and European giants Inter reportedly believe that they will be able to secure the services of the France international striker on a relatively low price. The Nerazzurri are aiming to win Serie A and are also playing in the Champions League this season.
The signing of Timo Werner has pushed Giroud further down the pecking oder at Chelsea. According to WhoScored, the 34-year-old has played just 33 minutes in the Premier League and only 27 minutes in the Champions League for Frank Lampard’s side so far this season.
