Italian giants Inter Milan have been heavily linked with a number of top defenders in recent weeks, and the latest name on their list is reportedly that of young Chelsea centre half Andreas Christensen, according to talkSport.
Yesterday the news broke that Inter were reportedly interested in Barcelona’s forgotten man Thomas Vermaelen but today they appear to have turned their attention to London and Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen. The Danish defender joined the Blues in February of 2012 but this season is the first campaign in which he has managed to earn any significant game time.
The centre half did enjoy two successful years on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach where his performances impressed the Chelsea hierarchy enough that they decided he would be an important squad player, and thus wouldn’t go out on loan again.
Unfortunately when Christensen has featured for the Blues his performances have been uninspiring. The Dane was at fault for two goals in Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Roma in October and has failed to continue the good form he showed in Germany.
A move to Inter however could provide the perfect opportunity for the youngster to establish some consistent game time and good form in a new environment.
