Atletico Madrid are said to have rebuffed Inter Milan’s initial approach for Croatian defender Sime Vrsaljko.
The Nerazzurri have reportedly keen on taking the 26-year-old on loan with an option to buy but Los Colchineros would only consider a permanent deal for the highly sought-after right-back.
La Liga heavyweights are believed to have placed a transfer fee in the region of €25 to €30 million for their defender and will not be dragged into any loan talks for the player who is also being tracked by Napoli and several Premier League sides.
It remains to be seen whether Inter Milan would return for the player whose versatility remains the biggest selling point. In addition to playing at right-back, Sime Vrsaljko can be deployed on the left of defense.
He would be an easy fit into the Inter Milan squad knowing he already boasts Serie A experience, having previously played for Genoa and Sassuolo.
