La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Inter Milan have agreed personal terms with Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij.
The Biancocelesti officials have admitted defeat in the race to keep the Dutch centre-back at Stadio Olimpico, meaning that he will be leaving on a free transfer at the end of the season.
And while Barcelona, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Zenit are among clubs keen on his signature, latest reports suggest that Inter Milan have emerged as frontrunners.
De Vrij and his agents have reportedly accepted a five-year deal worth €4.2 million per campaign from the Nerazzurri, although the deal has yet to be officially announced.
This means that Inter Milan could decide to cash in on Barcelona target Milan Skriniar and seriously improve their financial situation.
